We aim to promote and advocate for economic, social and emotional well being of girls so as to influence their positive social transformation. We aim at encouraging the leadership of girls, their participation and the development of their status, which in turn will benefits the entire community. We envision a society where every child is empowered and free to exercise its rights and live peacefully in a just, humane and equitable society.

Mrembo is a Swahili word that means Beautiful. In Mrembo we believe that all women are beautiful, and when given a chance they can shape and change the world. The Mrembo program aims to strengthen and amplify adolescents and young adults’ voices by empowering them to be advocates of their own rights and be able to claim their rights from duty bearers and community at large.

Through Mrembo TV show & radio show of which the TV show will be aired at TV1 and hosted by five very talented and passionate TV presenters while the radio show which will be hosted by an extremely talented female presenter with a beautiful voice and expert ability to communicate. And in these shows fellow youths both male and female will be invited to share and discuss on various issues they may face in their everyday life the goal being to promote gender equality.Not only that but also there will be a Mrembo magazine which aims at informing and bringing awareness to young girls and skills through the fun and youthful content to help them figure out how to cope with different life situations. The magazine will involve stories from both male’s and females, the goal still being to promote gender equality in our communities. Further more, Mrembo also has outreach events that aim at building a network of girls/women and boys/men who can stand up and fight social injustices and defend the rights of girls and young women and also to try and raise profiles for girls and women in the communities.

tv show

Mrembo TV Show will be hosted by five young girls TV presenter who will invite fellow girls, boys and experts in studio to discuss the topic at hand. The show will be aired on TV1 once a week. Season one of the show will produce and air 24 episodes covering gender, sexuality, health and livelihood aspects.

Mrembo radio show will be hosted by one young girl radio presenter who will lead a show. In every week, the show will invite fellow girls, boys and experts in studio to discuss the topic at hand. The show will air on Clouds FM radio.

Peer to peer helplines

Peer to Peer Helpline is a free, confidential, and anonymous helpline. It will be staffed by volunteers who will help to provide support, referrals and a listening ear to all peers in contact.
